My Go-To Hair Products

Hello loves! Long time no post. I have been posting majorly on my social media accounts and collegefashionista.com! Be sure to follow me on social media! Links all below. I get a lot of questions about my hair so I wanted to dedicate an entire blog post to my go-to hair routines and products that are especially adored during the school year.

First off, let’s talk about the hair type. My hair is naturally wavy. A few months ago I started going blonder with my hair so it has been bleached and colored. My roots are my natural color but the rest is a few shades blonder than my natural hair.

I am naturally a strawberry blonde. To keep my hair bright and blonde I was turned on to purple shampoo and conditioner by my hair stylist and have tried a few since. My favorite one I have tried so far is BLNDN NOURISH YOU Nourishing Conditioner. What blonde doesn't like brighter locks? I have found my hair is noticeably brighter after using this consistently. I use it about two times a week!

With going blonder there is obviously some damage that has been done to my hair so I have been extra careful about how much heat I used on it, to use hair masks and to treat it with extra love! When I don’t have to use heat on my hair, I don’t. For these days I use fave4 Up for Air Dry CreamReactivating Milk Spray and fave4 Flex Reflect Spray. Together these products help eliminate frizz and polish my natural waves (which can get a little crazy at times.)

The hairstyle you will typically catch me sporting is my go-to beachy waves. I get a lot of questions about how I curl my hair. When I tell people how I do it people are normally surprised at how simple it is! It is all about the tools you use. So listen up:

I use a large curling wand or iron. This Hot Tools one is my favorite and this one from target is a more affordable option. The key to my beachy waves is using at least a 1 inch barrel. I do not curl the last two inches of my ends for an effortless and messy look. I keep my hair on the barrel for about 10 seconds then release and voila! It really only takes me about 15 minutes so it is perfect to make yourself look polished for school because you can catch a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning. ;)

Top 3 Takeaways:
1. Avoid heat when possible! Use a texturizing spray and cream when rocking natural locks.

2. This one is for my blonde babes out there, make using a brightening/purple shampoo and conditioner a ritual.

3. For my beachy waves use a 1-1 1/2 inch curling iron leaving the last inch or two out of the iron.

What are the hair products you have been obsessing over?!

Majority of these products can be grabbed at the one stop shop for everything hair, Folica.com! Folica is one of my favorite online destinations for affordable and quality hair products and tools.
